Vision
Plays grant us permission to explore human nature and ask questions, big and small. Theatre embraces the beautiful intersection of community healing and individual catharsis. This transformative opportunity allows us to share moments and uncover truths about life. Me and my work are defined by and dedicated to this dramatic act of revelation.
J. Ravenscroft believes playwriting is about sharing what you know, and values art-making that speaks to the present and serves the future.
Her play STOP. was published as part of RENAISSANCE, a short-play anthology, in 2023, and later in 2026 was featured in the Adams Theatre Company’s ‘New Year, New Works’ Festival (available to watch here).
A staged reading of a new work of her’s is to premiere Dec. 14th, 2026, with the Chicago Dramatists First Draft series.
